2How it works
You run the capture. We run the platform, the review and the payout.
The programme is designed for partners who already have access to several businesses with manual work and can organise recording on their premises. From application to first upload typically takes one to two weeks.
Apply and onboard
Submit the application below. We review your network, agree the sectors and sites with you and set up your partner account on the Emberlab platform. You receive the recording guide, consent templates and a data processing agreement.
Equip the companies
You order head mounts from us at €25 each and provide the recording devices: an iPhone 12 mini per recording worker, or the workers' own phones running the Emberlab app. You agree compensation with each company and each recording worker.
Record and upload
Staff record regular shifts. Footage is uploaded through the platform, where uninvolved persons are masked automatically before every clip passes our quality and consent review. From experience, around a third of recorded hours pass that review (about 30%). Only those hours are paid. Plan with that figure.
Monthly statement and payout
Approved hours are paid at €14 each, monthly, with a statement per clip and site. The platform fee of €189 net is invoiced monthly and can be offset against the payout.

4Platform access
Every recording runs through the Emberlab platform.
Access to the platform is the requirement for taking part: uploads, automatic masking, consent records, quality review and your statements all run through it. No sales call and no setup fee. You book access, receive your login by email and set up everything else in the dashboard.
5Commercial terms and responsibilities
Clear division of roles. Documented from the first day.
The capture partner holds the relationship with the companies and their staff and is responsible for the recording on site. Emberlab holds the platform, the review and the licensing of the data. The full terms are set out in Part C of the programme terms.
What Emberlab provides

- 03Head mounts at €25 each, ordered in your dashboard and shipped to you or directly to the sites.
- 04The compliance kit: step-by-step recording guide, consent agreements for workers, information notices for bystanders, a checklist per site and a data processing agreement, in German and English.
- 05Review of every clip before it is used. Clips without documented consent are rejected and deleted.
- 06A named contact for onboarding and ongoing questions.
What the capture partner takes on
- 01Agreements and compensation with each company and each recording worker. Emberlab pays the €14 per approved hour to you; how much of it you pass on to companies and workers is set in your own contracts.
- 02Platform fee of €189 net per month, and head mounts at €25 each.
- 03Recording devices and their operation on site. Recommended: iPhone 12 mini, refurbished, approx. €200 each. Light enough for the head mount, 1080p recording, widely available. Alternatively the workers' own phones with the Emberlab app and a device allowance agreed with them.
- 04Data protection responsibility for the capture on site: you are the controller for the recording. That means signed consent per worker before the first recording, information of bystanders, works-council involvement where required, and no recording in sanitary, changing and break rooms or in areas the company has excluded.
- 05Recording quality according to the guide, so that footage passes review: camera position, lighting, task coverage and clean handover between shifts.

Data protection, in practice
You carry the responsibility, but not alone. The compliance kit tells you exactly what to do before, during and after each recording day, and every template has been drafted for German industrial workplaces. On the platform, faces and other identifying features of uninvolved persons are masked before any clip is reviewed or used, and every consent is stored against the clips it covers. Revocations are logged and the affected material is removed from delivery.
